Gentlemen,
Foreign Office, July 28, 1911. WITH reference to the letter from this department of the 27th ultimo, respecting the restrictions imposed upon the trade in opium by the local authorities in the province. of Fukien, I am directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to inform you that a report has been received from His Majesty's Minister at Peking, from which it appears that the Viceroy of that province has complied with the instructions, issued to him by the Chinese Government at Sir J. Jordan's request, for the removal of the restrictions in question.
